Disadvantages are poor acid resistance, poor resilience and fatigue resistance, and low wet mechanical strength. It can be purely spun or blended with chemical fibers such as polyester.
Both washed cotton and rayon are cellulose, which is the same as the composition of starch, with a larger molecular weight. Synthetic cotton dissolves cellulose in a solvent and ejects it from a very fine nozzle to form a filament, similar to spider drawing. Therefore, the use of burning is indistinguishable, mainly by hand. Artificial cotton should be smoother.
